naughty knee

First "real" run of the year {elliptical doesn't count as running. Neither does the treadmill, but that's just my own preference not a comment on you}...a mere three miles. Right knee starts acting strangely a mile in, and two miles in is frowning up at me. Run this evening: half mile in and I started hurting. Mile one and I stumbled {as gracefully as possible} and limped around for another quarter mile. Two miles and I called it.

I am beyond frustrated. Running is one of my best friends. I run around a track as happily as a hamster for miles and miles. Running outside is even better--but only in better weather. The real frustration is with myself though. Why is it that I can't seem to push through this little teensy tiny ouch? Haven't I endured bigger pain? Ugh.

I put it to you, whoever you are reading. What do you think?

a) Time to buy new runners.

b) No pain, no gain!

c) Stop being a baby, B.

d) Go see a dang Doctor.

e) Run a marathon tomorrow before your knee gives out completely.

love!

6 loves:

  1. Welcome to my world. I have always had knee trouble, but nowadays if I try to run (REAL running) not only do my knees hurt like that, but my hips and ankles do, too. That's why we own an elliptical and that's really all I can do without feeling all that pain. It stinks. Getting older, my friend. :(

  3. I'll confess, I'm a treadmill runner. That's because I HATE running, but I'm trying to make myself love it. I run on the treadmill because it tells me exactly how long i run, how many calories i burn, etc.

the goal is to run a half-marathon before the year is up.

  4. Aw Laura, I remember that! :( Biking is a really good idea...I've been pondering that for a while...maybe its time! Lauren, I hope you make your half-marathon! I can't stand treadmills, so kudos to you x10!
